About LDAP and RADIUS

If you are using an LDAP or RADIUS server  Top

If you have installed and configured an LDAP or RADIUS server, you can enable and use the service to authenticate users for NetCache. LDAP and RADIUS provide alternative clear-text authentication methods to the local NetCache user database. Additionally, many enterprises already have user databases established on these servers and prefer to continue using them. You can point NetCache to the RADIUS or LDAP server so that NetCache uses that server's database for authentication.

Using an existing LDAP or RADIUS server to authenticate users for NetCache reduces the workload of maintaining a user database for NetCache. This approach eliminates the need to add users individually to the NetCache user database and replicate additions and changes across discrete appliances to keep them synchronized.

Note
Always maintain at least a single administrator user account on the local NetCache user database as a back door into the appliance. Also, you should always include "local" in the authentication checking order, preferably first. Neglecting to do so can cause various administrative lockouts and delays.
