Ways you can update your control files
You can update your control files in either of the following ways:
- Automatically, by using the options on the Install from URL tab on the SmartFilter page
- For instructions on how to set up automatic updating of SmartFilter control files, see the Appliance Manager online Help.
- Manually, by using the options on the Install from Your Computer tab on the SmartFilter page
- For instructions on how to obtain updated SmartFilter control files manually, see the Appliance Manager online Help.
To access the SmartFilter page in the Appliance Manager, select Setup tab > Access Control > SmartFilter.
How often to update control files
Whether you decide to update control files manually or automatically, Network Appliance recommends you update the control file twice weekly.
