The DynaBLocator URL database includes lists of Web sites that contain HTTP content that match the DynaBLocator categories. This section describes the DynaBLocator URL database, discusses how you obtain the URL database initially, and makes recommendations for how often you need to update the URL database that is on your appliance.
The DynaBLocator URL database contains a list of URLs and IP addresses that match the DynaBLocator categories. This variety in entry type enables you to block access to Web content at various levels, as the following table shows.
A specific object (picture or document) in a directory on the Web page |
||
Entire sites are not blocked because of content that is in a specific directory. For example, the following entry does not block the entire site www.abcinc:
www.abcinc.com/jobs/jobs.html
After you subscribe to DynaBLocator or when you request a DynaBLocator evaluation, you will receive a customer ID for the Web site from which you can download the DynaBLocator URL database. See the NOW Web site at http://now.netapp.com/ for details.
The DynaBLocator URL database is updated and released by the WebWasher corporation twice a day. Network Appliance recommends that you update the URL database at the frequency at which the WebWasher corporation updates and releases it.
After the initial download of the DynaBLocator URL database, only the changes to the URL database are downloaded to your NetCache appliance.
If you find a Web site that needs to be added to the URL database, send your request to the WebWasher corporation at the following e-mail address:
