Section G: Monitoring a Web cache

About the Web access log  Top

One of the available log files on the NetCache appliance is the Web access log. With the Web access log, the HTTP client transactions received by a Web cache, cache hits and misses, the types of objects, time required to handle objects, client IP addresses, bytes delivered, and other relative details to HTTP Web cache traffic can be recorded. For the field order and descriptions for the Web access log, see the chapter about log file formats in the Guide to Messages and Log File Entries.

NetCache log files and formats  Top

When the NetCache appliance boots for the first time, all of the log files are enabled and set to a default format. However, you can modify the content and format of the logs.
