You must meet all hardware, software, Data ONTAP, and Microsoft requirements before installing the rapid provisioning and cloning commandlets.
- Data ONTAP requirements
- Data ONTAP versions 7.3.1 P1 and later are supported.
- Storage platform requirements (New-Clone commandlet only)
The following storage platforms are supported for the
New-Clone command:
- 20xx
- 30xx
- 31xx
- 60xx
- NearStore R200
- Storage system license requirement
- The FlexClone license is required on all storage systems using the commandlets.
- Microsoft requirements
- .Net 3.5 SP 1
- WMI and VDS services enabled on host
- Firewall ports for DCOM are opened for remote requests
- New-Clone commandlet needs to be executed on host where the System Center Virtual Machine Manager library share exists
- Microsoft licenses requirements
- The commandlets require the following Microsoft licenses:
- Windows Server 2008 R2 with Hyper-V enabled
- Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2008 R2
- Microsoft SQL Server 2008
- Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager Administrator Console (for New-Clone commandlet only)
- Virtual machine requirements
- All source VHDs for the System Center Virtual Machine Manager templates must reside on NetApp LUNs.
Note: Only fixed-size VHDs are supported.
- PowerShell requirements
- PowerShell version 2.0 or later is required. System Center Virtual Machine Manager administrative commandlets must also be imported in Windows PowerShell sessions and profiles.
