ApplianceWatch is designed to scale to large numbers of controllers. As the number of storage controllers increases, you can manage the monitoring load by changing the run frequency of the various discovery and monitoring rules.
If you run discovery and monitoring rules less frequently, you place less burden on the Microsoft Operations Manager infrastructure, but you receive less timely alert information. You should run discovery rules less frequently than monitoring rules to avoid situations where rules overlap and conflict with each other.
