Vserver management
You must configure the services and protocols for a Vserver to serve data. To delegate the Vserver administration to a Vserver administrator, you must set up a password and unlock the vsadmin user account.
The cluster administrator can perform all Vserver management tasks. The cluster administrator can create, configure, modify, rename, or delete a Vserver, display information about the Vserver, or start or stop the Vserver.
The Vserver administrator can perform only the following Vserver administrative tasks:
•
Displaying information about the Vserver
•
Configuring data access protocols
•
Configuring services, such as NIS and DNS
•
Managing volumes and Snapshot copies
•
Viewing jobs
•
Monitoring network configuration
For more information about Vserver administrator capabilities, see the
Data ONTAP Cluster-Mode Vserver Administrator Capabilities Overview Guide
