Creating a Vserver with Infinite Volume
You can create a Vserver with Infinite Volume to provide a single mount point for clients to access data. An Infinite Volume is a single logical entity that can scale to multi-petabyte storage. An Infinite Volume enables you to manage your data using one large logical entity.

Note: The Infinite Volume feature may not be enabled. Contact your NetApp sales representative to enable this feature.

Each aggregate on the destination cluster must be the same size or bigger than its corresponding aggregate on the source cluster.
Steps
1.
From the Home tab, double-click the appropriate storage system.
2.
Expand the Vservers hierarchy in the left navigation pane.
3.
In the navigation pane, select the cluster.
4.
Click Create.
5.
Select the Vserver type as Vserver with Infinite Volume and click Next.
6.
7.
Confirm the details and click Finish to complete the wizard.
8.
Click Close after Vserver setup is complete.
Result
The Vserver with Infinite Volume is created with four constituent aggregates. The largest constituent is used for the namespace constituent and has the least free space. The namespace constituent is thick-provisioned, and the data constituents are thin-provisioned. The Infinite Volume is created with UNIX style security and UNIX 700 read write execute permissions for the owner. The Vserver root volume is not part of the Infinite Volume.
The Vserver that you created starts automatically. If you delegated the administration to a Vserver administrator, the vsadmin user account is created and is in an unlocked state. The vsadmin role is assigned to the default vsadmin user account.
