Cmdlet: Set-NcVolTotalFiles

NAME
Set-NcVolTotalFiles

SYNOPSIS
Set a volume's 'files-total' value to the given quantity.

SYNTAX
Set-NcVolTotalFiles [-Name] <String> [-VserverContext <String>] [-Controller
<NcController[]>] [-TotalFiles] <Int32> [-Force] [-WhatIf] [-Confirm] [<Com
monParameters>]

DESCRIPTION
Set a volume's 'files-total' value to the given quantity. This specifies th
e maximum number of user-visible files that the given volume can hold.

PARAMETERS
-Name <String>
The name of the volume whose 'files-total' field we wish to set. The ch
osen volume must be online and not read-only for this operation to succe
ed.

Required? true
Position? 1
Default value
Accept pipeline input? true (ByPropertyName)
Accept wildcard characters? false

-VserverContext <String>
Vserver to which to direct this command. If the currently connected con
troller (as embodied by an NcController object) represents a cluster, th
ere are multiple means to address commands to one of its vservers. Eith
er set the Vserver field on the NcController object to direct all subseq
uent commands to that vserver, or supply the VserverContext parameter to
an individual cmdlet. Only cmdlets which may be invoked on vservers of
fer the VserverContext parameter.

Required? false
Position? named
Default value
Accept pipeline input? false
Accept wildcard characters? false

-Controller <NcController[]>
A clustered Data ONTAP controller to receive this cmdlet, as embodied by
an NcController object. This parameter is returned by the Connect-NcCo
ntroller cmdlet. If not specified, the value in the global variable Cur
rentNcController is used. In the latter case, if CurrentNcController co
ntains a collection of NcController objects, this cmdlet is invoked on e
ach controller in succession.

Required? false
Position? named
Default value
Accept pipeline input? true (ByValue, ByPropertyName)
Accept wildcard characters? false

-TotalFiles <Int32>
Specifies the new value for the volume's 'files-total' field. This valu
e must be larger than the volume's current 'files-total' value, and can
never be larger than the number of 4KB blocks in the volume. The filer
may actually choose a smaller value so as to comply with certain interna
l accounting and alignment requirements. Once this value has been incre
ased for a volume, it cannot be reduced below the value of 'inodefile-pu
blic-capacity' for that volume. Range : [0..2^31-1]

Required? true
Position? 2
Default value
Accept pipeline input? false
Accept wildcard characters? false

-Force
Indicates whether the filer should reject a legal but "unreasonable" (se
emingly too large) value for 'requested-total-files', or accept it witho
ut question. By default, legal but "unreasonable" values are rejected.
