SYNOPSIS
Turns an unmirrored aggregate into a mirrored aggregate by adding a plex to
it.

eters>]
New-NaAggrMirror [-Name] <String> [-Force] [-OverrideVfilerOwnership] [-Allo
wSameCarrier] [-Controller <NaController>] -VictimAggregate <String> [-WhatI
f] [-Confirm] [<CommonParameters>]
DESCRIPTION
Turns an unmirrored aggregate into a mirrored aggregate by adding a plex to
it. The plex is either newly formed from disks chosen from a spare pool or,
if the "VictimAggregate" option is specified, taken from another existing u
nmirrored aggregate. The named aggregate must currently be unmirrored. Dis
ks may be specified explicitly using the "MirrorDisks" list option in the sa
me way as with the "New-NaAggr" and "Add-NaAggr" commands. The number of di
sks indicated must match the number present in the existing aggregate. If di
sks are not specified explicitly, then disks are automatically selected to m
atch those in the aggregate's existing plex.
PARAMETERS
-Name <String>
Name of the existing aggregate to be mirrored.
Required? true
Position? 1
Default value
Accept pipeline input? true (ByValue, ByPropertyName)
Accept wildcard characters? false
-Force
Force the mirroring operation through, past the normal roadblocks that w
ould otherwise cause it to be aborted. For example, disks in a plex are
not normally permitted to span spare pools. Also, the victim cannot no
rmally be accepted when it is owned by one or more vfilers. All these s
afety-driven behaviors are overridden when this option is set to "true".
Required? false
Position? named
Default value false
Accept pipeline input? false
Accept wildcard characters? false
-AllowSameCarrier
If specified, allows placing two disks from one carrier in one RAID grou
p.
Using two disks from one carrier that houses multiple disks in one RAID
group is not desirable. If that happens, Data ONTAP initiates a series o
f disk copy operations to correct that situation. Sometimes, selection o
f available spare disks makes it impossible to avoid placing two disks f
rom one carrier in one RAID group. Setting this option to true allows pl
acing two disks from one carrier in one RAID group. This option is only
available when specifying specific disks using the MirrorDisks paramete
r.
Required? false
Position? named
Default value
Accept pipeline input? false
Accept wildcard characters? false
-Controller <NaController>
The Data ONTAP controller object, embodied by an NaController object. T
his parameter is returned by the Connect-NaController cmdlet. If not sp
ecified, the value in the global variable CurrentNaController is used.
Required? false
Position? named
Default value
Accept pipeline input? false
Accept wildcard characters? false
-MirrorDisks <Object[]>
Specific list of mirror disks to add. This list must match the number o
f disks present on the existing aggregate. The specified disks are not
permitted to span disk pools unless overridden with the "Force" option.
Required? false
Position? named
Default value
Accept pipeline input? false
Accept wildcard characters? false
-WhatIf
Required? false
Position? named
Default value
Accept pipeline input? false
Accept wildcard characters? false
-Confirm
Required? false
Position? named
Default value
Accept pipeline input? false
Accept wildcard characters? false
-OverrideVfilerOwnership
If specified, the victim aggregate will be accepted even when it is owne
d by one or more vfilers.
Required? false
Position? named
Default value
Accept pipeline input? false
Accept wildcard characters? false
-VictimAggregate <String>
The "victim" aggregate to cannibalize in order to mirror the named aggre
gate. The "VictimAggregate" must have been previously joined with the a
ggregate to be mirrored and then split from it. The resulting mirrored
aggregate is otherwise identical to the original aggregate before the op
eration. The "VictimAggregate" (and all its volumes) is effectively des
troyed. "VictimAggregate" (and all its volumes) must be offline.
Required? true
Position? named
Default value
Accept pipeline input? false
Accept wildcard characters? false
<CommonParameters>
