Cmdlet: Start-NaSnapvaultPriRestoreTransfer
NAME
Start-NaSnapvaultPriRestoreTransfer
SYNOPSIS
Request the primary system to begin a restore transfer.
SYNTAX
Start-NaSnapvaultPriRestoreTransfer [-PrimaryPath] <String> [-SecondarySyste
m] <String> [-SecondaryPath] <String> [-Incremental] [-MaxTransferRate <Int6
4>] [-SecondarySnapshot <String>] [-NoLunCloneExpansion [<Boolean>]] [-Contr
oller <NaController>] [-WhatIf] [-Confirm] [<CommonParameters>]
DESCRIPTION
Baseline transfer:
Request the primary system to begin a baseline restore transfer from the giv
en secondary path to the given primary path. If the primary path does not a
lready exist, it will be created before starting the restore transfer. If i
t already exists, its contents will be overwritten by the restore transfer.
If an existing primary path contains LUNs, then under certain conditions, r
estore will prevent disruptions to clients using those LUNs. The request wi
ll only start the restore transfer and return. The actual transfer will pro
ceed asynchronously and there is no guarantee that it will succeed. The Get
-NaSnapvaultPriStatus cmdlet should be used to check the status of the resto
re.
Incremental transfer:
Request to initiate an incremental restore from a given secondary path to an
existing primary path, using the specified secondary snapshot. The request
will only initiate the restore and return. The actual restore operation wi
ll proceed asynchronously and there is no guarantee that it will succeed. T
he Get-NaSnapvaultPriStatus cmdlet should be used to determine progress of t
he restore operation. If the dataset contains LUNs, the restore will attemp
t to prevent disruptions to clients using those LUNs. Upon success, the pri
mary path will have the exact same contents as the specified secondary path
in the specified secondary snapshot.
PARAMETERS
-PrimaryPath <String>
The primary path to which data is being restored. For a baseline transf
er, the primary path will be created during the restore if it doesn't al
ready exist.
Required? true
Position? 1
Default value
Accept pipeline input? true (ByPropertyName)
Accept wildcard characters? false
-SecondarySystem <String>
The secondary system to restore from. This input will be used by the pr
imary system to establish contact with the secondary. Therefore it is e
xpected to be a hostname that the primary can resolve.
Required? true
Position? 2
Default value
Accept pipeline input? true (ByPropertyName)
Accept wildcard characters? false
-SecondaryPath <String>
The secondary path to restore from.
Required? true
Position? 3
Default value
Accept pipeline input? true (ByPropertyName)
Accept wildcard characters? false
-Incremental
Specify to begin an incremental restore transfer. If not specified, a b
aseline restore transfer will be started.
Required? false
Position? named
Default value
Accept pipeline input? false
Accept wildcard characters? false
-MaxTransferRate <Int64>
The maximum transfer rate in bytes per second to be applied only for thi
s update transfer. If this option is not provided the default behavior
will be to allow the transfer to proceed as fast as possible. Range:[1.
.2^31-2]
Required? false
Position? named
Default value
Accept pipeline input? true (ByPropertyName)
Accept wildcard characters? false
-SecondarySnapshot <String>
Name of the secondary snapshot to be used for this restore transfer.
Required? false
Position? named
Default value
Accept pipeline input? true (ByValue, ByPropertyName)
Accept wildcard characters? false
-NoLunCloneExpansion [<Boolean>]
This option dictates how a LUN clone would be transferred from source to
destination. If this option is "false", a LUN clone would be transferr
ed as a LUN and if it is "true", it will be transferred as a clone. By
default the value of the option is "false".
Required? false
Position? named
Default value false
Accept pipeline input? true (ByPropertyName)
Accept wildcard characters? false
-Controller <NaController>
The Data ONTAP controller object, embodied by an NaController object. T
his parameter is returned by the Connect-NaController cmdlet. If not sp
ecified, the value in the global variable CurrentNaController is used.
Required? false
Position? named
Default value
Accept pipeline input? false
Accept wildcard characters? false
-WhatIf
Required? false
Position? named
Default value
Accept pipeline input? false
Accept wildcard characters? false
-Confirm
Required? false
Position? named
Default value
Accept pipeline input? false
