DESCRIPTION
Re-establishes a mirroring relationship between a source volume and a destin
ation volume, typically in the following cases:
* The destination mirror is broken (that is, the destination volume is a rea
d-write volume and no longer a data protection mirror). After the cmdlet com
pletes, the destination volume is made a data protection mirror and the mirr
or can be manually updated or scheduled for updates.
* An update operation failed because the required common Snapshot copy was d
eleted on the source volume.
Attention: Invoke-NcSnapmirrorResync can cause data loss on the destination
volume because the cmdlet can remove the exported snapshot copy on the desti
nation volume. The cmdlet operates by finding the most recent common snapsh
ot copy between the source and destination volumes, removes snapshot copies
on the destination volume that are newer than the common snapshot copy, and
makes the common snapshot copy the temporary exported snapshot copy on the d
estination volume. The cmdlet next takes a snapshot copy of the source volu
me to capture the current image and transfers snapshot copies that are newer
than the common snapshot copy from the source volume to the destination vol
ume. The cmdlet finally makes the newest snapshot copy on the destination v
olume the new exported snapshot copy. The cmdlet fails if the destination v
olume does not have a snapshot copy in common with the source volume. A job
is spawned to operate on the SnapMirror relationship and the job id is retu
rned. The progress of the job can be tracked using the job cmdlets.
The cmdlet must be issued on the destination cluster.
PARAMETERS
-DestinationCluster <String>
Specifies the destination cluster of the SnapMirror relationship. The d
estination vserver and destination volume must also be specified if usin
g this parameter.
Required? false
Position? named
Default value
Accept pipeline input? true (ByPropertyName)
Accept wildcard characters? false
-DestinationVserver <String>
Specifies the destination vserver of the SnapMirror relationship. The d
estination cluster and destination volume must also be specified if usin
g this parameter.
Required? true
Position? named
Default value
Accept pipeline input? true (ByPropertyName)
Accept wildcard characters? false
-DestinationVolume <String>
Specifies the destination volume of the SnapMirror relationship. The de
stination cluster and destination vserver must also be specified if usin
g this parameter.
Required? true
Position? named
Default value
Accept pipeline input? true (ByPropertyName)
Accept wildcard characters? false
-SourceCluster <String>
Specifies the source cluster of the SnapMirror relationship. The source
vserver and source volume must also be specified if using this paramete
r.
Required? false
Position? named
Default value
Accept pipeline input? true (ByPropertyName)
Accept wildcard characters? false
-SourceVserver <String>
Specifies the source vserver of the SnapMirror relationship. The source
cluster and source volume must also be specified if using this paramete
r.
Required? false
Position? named
Default value
Accept pipeline input? true (ByPropertyName)
Accept wildcard characters? false
-SourceVolume <String>
Specifies the source volume of the SnapMirror relationship. The source
cluster and source vserver must also be specified if using this paramete
r.
Required? false
Position? named
Default value
Accept pipeline input? true (ByPropertyName)
Accept wildcard characters? false
-MaxTransferRate <Int64>
Specifies the upper bound, in bytes per second, at which data is transfe
rred between clusters. The default is unlimited (0) which permits the S
napMirror relationship to fully utilize the available network bandwidth.
This option does not affect load-sharing mirrors and other SnapMirror
relationships confined to a single cluster.
Required? false
Position? named
Default value
Accept pipeline input? true (ByPropertyName)
Accept wildcard characters? false
-SourceSnapshot <String>
The snapshot on the source volume to use for the transfer.
Required? false
Position? named
Default value
Accept pipeline input? true (ByPropertyName)
Accept wildcard characters? false
-Preserve
By default, all snapshots on the destination that are newer than the lat
est common snapshot will be deleted. If specified, newer snapshots are
retained.
Required? false
Position? named
Default value
Accept pipeline input? false
Accept wildcard characters? false
-Passthru
Specify to output the SnapMirror object rather than the job ID.
Required? false
Position? named
Default value
Accept pipeline input? false
Accept wildcard characters? false
-Controller <NcController[]>
A clustered Data ONTAP controller to receive this cmdlet, as embodied by
an NcController object. This parameter is returned by the Connect-NcCo
ntroller cmdlet. If not specified, the value in the global variable Cur
rentNcController is used. In the latter case, if CurrentNcController co
ntains a collection of NcController objects, this cmdlet is invoked on e
ach controller in succession.
Required? false
Position? named
Default value
Accept pipeline input? true (ByValue, ByPropertyName)
Accept wildcard characters? false
-Destination <String>
Specifies the destination endpoint of the SnapMirror relationship in the
format: [cluster:]//vserver/volume. This format may change in the futu
re. When specifying a destination endpoint, you must use either the des
tination location, or the destination cluster, destination vserver, and
destination volume.
Required? true
Position? 1
Default value
Accept pipeline input? true (ByPropertyName)
Accept wildcard characters? false
-Source <String>
Specifies the source endpoint of the SnapMirror relationship in the form
at: [cluster:]//vserver/volume. This format may change in the future.
When specifying a source endpoint, you must use either the source locati
on, or the source cluster, source vserver, and source volume.
Required? false
Position? 2
Default value
Accept pipeline input? true (ByPropertyName)
Accept wildcard characters? false
<CommonParameters>
This cmdlet supports the common parameters: Verbose, Debug,
ErrorAction, ErrorVariable, WarningAction, WarningVariable,
OutBuffer and OutVariable. For more information, type,
