Performing unattended SnapDrive installations

Using batch file scripts can greatly simplify the task of installing, upgrading, or uninstalling SnapDrive for Windows on multiple systems.

Before you begin

SnapDrive does not support unattended upgrade or removal of SnapDrive versions earlier than 4.0, nor does it support unattended upgrade of earlier MPIO (ntapdsm.sys) versions to Data ONTAP DSM for Windows MPIO.

Steps

  1. Copy the SnapDrive executable to your Windows host.
  2. Create a batch file (a file with a .bat extension) containing the appropriate switch combinations for the type of unattended install you would like to perform.
