The SnapManager Configuration Wizard provides the following capabilities:
You must use the SnapManager Configuration Wizard to move the Exchange databases and transaction logs so that they are placed in the correct location for proper functionality of the SnapManager Backup and Restore processes.
After the initial configuration, you can return to the Configuration Wizard at any time to review or make changes to your Exchange data store configuration.
Caution
Do not use the Exchange System Manager to move Exchange databases or transaction logs for any Exchange system that has been configured using SnapManager. Doing so prevents SnapManager from functioning correctly.
Note
Remember that moving Exchange databases causes them to be taken offline during the move operation.
When you use the Configuration Wizard, you are determining the placement of several components of Exchange and SnapManager. You can see the current placement of these components by selecting them in the Backup tab window and selecting View > Properties, or by using the Details buttons in the Configuration Wizard.
The following table describes these components and how they are used in your SnapManager environment.

|

|

The .edb file stores message and attachment content generated by MAPI clients, and message properties such as author, recipients, subject, and priority. The .stm file holds native Internet content (for example, MIME). |
