To upgrade to SnapManager 3.1 for Microsoft Exchange from SnapManager for Microsoft Exchange 2000 v1.1 or later, including removing the existing version of SnapManager from your system, complete the following steps.
Note
Before you complete these steps, make sure that you have prepared your system and environment as described in Preinstall or preupgrade process.
You do not need to stop Exchange services when you upgrade SnapManager. Exchange can continue to run while you upgrade SnapManager. However, if you need to interrupt connectivity to the Exchange data when upgrading other components, such as filers or connection protocols, you need to take Exchange offline.

If you have not already done so, verify that your host system meets the minimum requirements. For details, see Verifying system requirements. |

Upgrade to the required version of SnapDrive if necessary. For information about upgrading SnapDrive, see your SnapDrive documentation. |
