Backing up system resources

Before you install SnapManager, NetApp strongly recommends that you back up your system resources and data using NTBackup or another industry standard backup utility.

To back up your system resources and data, complete the following steps.

Step	Action
1	Back up the operating system installation on the Exchange server, including the system state.
2	Back up the data on the local drives on the Exchange server.
3	Back up the boot and system drives, and the registry.
4	Use your backup utility to create and maintain a current emergency repair disk (ERD).
