This topic describes how to install and configure SnapManager 3.2 for Microsoft Exchange in an existing Windows cluster.
To install and configure SnapManager 3.2 for Microsoft Exchange in an existing Windows cluster, complete the following steps.
Note
Before you complete these steps, make sure that you have prepared your system and environment as described in Preinstall or preupgrade procedure.
| 1 |
Verify that the Exchange virtual servers and the cluster services are functioning properly by moving the Exchange virtual server from one cluster node to the other and back. If any errors occur, or if any of the cluster resources do not start properly, resolve the issue before continuing. |
| 2 | |
| 3 |
From the node that owns the cluster group that contains the Exchange virtual server, create the shared LUNs to hold the Exchange databases and transaction log files, according to your SnapManager data configuration plan. For details, see your SnapDrive documentation. Note |
| 4 |
Verify that the System Attendant Resource dependencies are set correctly. The System Attendant Resource must depend on all the LUN physical disk resources and the Network Name resource in this cluster group. |
| 5 |
Verify that the Exchange virtual servers and the cluster services are functioning correctly by moving the cluster group containing the newly created Exchange virtual server to the other node and back. |
| 6 |
Install SnapManager on all nodes, starting with the node that currently owns the cluster resources. Use either the interactive installation procedure or the unattended installation procedure for a stand-alone Windows host system. Both procedures are described in Installing SnapManager on a stand-alone Windows host system. |
| 7 |
Proceed to Chapter 4, Starting SnapManager for the First Time. |
