Use the Number of Databases that Can be Backed Up Concurrently screen to view and change the maximum number of databases that can be backed up concurrently. For more information, go to any of the following topics:
By default, SnapManager backs up all databases on the same storage system volume concurrently. To limit the system resource used by SQL Server during SnapManager Snapshot copy backup, you can limit the number of databases that can be backed up concurrently.
Note
Limiting the number of databases can be backed up concurrently may increase the number of Snapshot copies that are required to backup all of the databases. In the case of multiple databases sharing one or two LUNs, if the number of databases allowed to be backed up concurrently is less than the actual number of databases that share the LUNs, then the backup will be split. In this case, a copy-based restore method will be used to restore from this backup set.
To change the maximum number of databases that can be backed up concurrently, complete the following steps from within the Number of Databases that Can Be Backed Up Concurrently screen of the Configuration Wizard.
Note
The maximum number of databases allowed per backup can also be configured using the Backup Setting dialog box. See Configuring the profile of a full database backup.
